Administrative and Development Coordinator
Job type: 20-25 hours a week. This is a long term position with opportunities for growth.
Location: Remote position, work from anywhere.
Compensation: $25-$30/ Hour | DOE
Desired Start Date: July 15 or August 1, 2022. Applications accepted until the position is filled.

About the organization:
The Health Justice Commons (HJC) works at the intersections of gender, disability, racial, environmental & economic justice to center and uplift communities most harmed and marginalized by the Medical Industrial Complex (MIC) to lead in redesigning healthcare. We provide health justice training, engage in movement building, and incubate community-led alternatives aimed at disrupting and transforming the MIC while alleviating the health burden of social injustice, environmental racism, and the legacies of intergenerational trauma driven by settler-colonialism and capitalism.
Role and Tasks
Administrative:
Schedule organizational meetings.
Track & submit invoices, and interface with our fiscal sponsor as necessary to ensure timely payment.
Track and submit reimbursements and credit card expenditures.
Track income and fee for service revenue. Submit necessary forms to the fiscal sponsor.
Manage HJC platforms to ensure payment is up to date and user credentials are accessible.
Maintain the organizational calendar and ensure timelines and deadlines are tracked and managed.
Manage HJC documents and files.
Communications:
Support the Social Media and Community Engagement Coordinator to send Mail Meteor blasts.
Support the Movement Building and Logistics intern (who is supervised by Founding Director), to ensure tracking of and timely response to all those who contact the HJC with inquiries, requests, or invitations to speak.
Coordinate translation of social media and/or other HJC content with our team of contracted translators.
Fundraising & Development:
Maintain and coordinate HJC’s fundraising calendar to track foundation proposals and report deadlines, grassroots fundraising deadlines, and fundraising meetings
Work with the Founding Director to create a fundraising plan and support its implementation.
Assist Founding Director with drafting grant proposals and report content and ensuring their timely submission.
Support the planning and implementation of major donor activities.
Program Support:
Attend organizational and/or external meetings as needed to provide technical support, take notes, and/or represent the HJC.
Coordinate HJC meeting agendas as needed.
Track attendance and follow-up from meetings as needed.
Coordinating tech support for HJC’s online gatherings.
Other tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
3-5+ years experience doing administrative and program coordination and/or project management for community-based organizations or equivalent experience
Highly detail oriented
Highly organized and able to work and problem-solve independently
Strong proof-reading skills
Strong time management skills, including ability to prioritize, responsiveness to time sensitive tasks, and/or effective delegation
Proficiency writing/editing letters of intent, foundation proposals, donor letters and donor materials.
Strong commitment to and demonstrated experience with disability justice, racial justice, gender justice, economic justice, and/or environmental justice vision and values, including a strong understanding of and commitment to intersectional justice, cross-disability solidarity, anti-capitalism, and collective liberation
Experience doing community organizing, social justice-oriented service, healing or cultural work that demonstrates and aligns with HJC’s vision, values, and mission
Strong communication and creative, collaborative problem-solving skills
Knowledge of and experience with diverse apps such as Trello, Slack, 1password, Loomly, Thinkific, etc.
Proficiency with Mac systems, Word, Excel, Google Workspace and a variety of social media platforms.
Desired Experience and Skills:
Bilingual or multilingual, including ASL
Experience with organizational budgeting and evaluating financial documents such as balance sheets and income and expense reports
Experience designing and implementing new organizational systems and practices
Experience using FileMaker Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro and other design applications
