I'll build your words into a different world: dismantling the crisis of a capitalist future

This collage, I’ll build your words into a better world: Dismantling the crisis of a capitalist future,  is made of snippets of text  from two articles. The first is Jeff Bezos blasts into space on own rocket: ‘Best day ever!’ about Bezos going to space on a private rocket during the pandemic.he second, Cramer says bet on these ‘pseudo-lockdown stocks’ as Wall Street worries about Covid delta variant, is a list of predictions from CNBC’s “Mad Money” show host about stock investments during the spread of the Delta variant. They are overlaid on a photograph of a busy intersection in Chengdu, China - a city whose development, like many cities, comes hand in hand with displacement and inequality.

I hope this collage invites people to ponder the disasters created and exacerbated by capitalism. As the Medical Industrial Complex (MIC) and big pharma continue to celebrate the development of new technologies, like vaccines, as signs of progress and a return to normalcy, they forget that these technologies are still purposefully inaccessible to many. I also hope it invites us to explore the possibility and power of re-appropriating technology (and words) to be useful and liberating. I think this is something crip communities have become experts at doing. Image descriptions below!

If you want to learn and talk more about the delta variant surge and vaccine apartheid, with disabled/ crip communities and rad healthcare worker accomplices, please join us on THURSDAY, 8/26, at 5-7 pm PDT/ 8-10 pm EDT for our August Rad Healers and Healthcare Workers Solidarity Gathering with special guest presenter, Sins Invalid’s Cyrée Jarelle Johnson. Register HERE! It’s free and ASL and live closed captioning will be provided.
